Getting Started
Botly is a comprehensive trading journal and analytics platform designed for day traders and prop firm traders. It helps you track, analyze, and improve your trading performance with advanced metrics, visualizations, and insights.
You can import trades by:
- Going to the Dashboard and clicking the "Import New Account" button
- Selecting your broker (NinjaTrader, Tradovate, or Rithmic)
- Choosing your prop firm (Apex, TopStep, etc.)
- Uploading your CSV export file from your trading platform
Currently, Botly supports:
- NinjaTrader — Full support for execution and performance exports
- Tradovate — Full support for CSV exports
- Rithmic — Full support for completed orders exports
More broker integrations are coming soon!
Features & Analytics
Botly tracks comprehensive trading metrics including:
- Win Rate — Percentage of winning trades
- Profit Factor — Gross profit divided by gross loss
- Expectancy — Average expected profit per trade
- RAR (Risk Adjusted Return) — Returns adjusted for risk taken
- DRB (Daily Risk Budget) — Daily loss limit tracking
- Average Win/Loss — Average profit and loss per trade
- Max Drawdown — Largest peak-to-trough decline
- Win/Loss Streaks — Consecutive wins and losses
Yes! You can add detailed journal notes to any trade by clicking on the trade in the data grid and using the notes section. This helps you document your trading decisions, emotions, and lessons learned.
Botly provides several report types:
- Daily Reports — Trade-by-trade breakdown for each day
- Weekly Reports — Weekly performance summaries
- Monthly Reports — Comprehensive monthly analysis
- Overall Reports — All-time performance overview
- Account Performance — Individual account tracking
Account & Subscription
You can manage all your trading accounts from the "Trading Accounts" page in the user menu. Each account can have its own:
- Account number and nickname
- Prop firm association
- Account type (Evaluation, Funded, Personal, Sim)
- Separate trade imports and analytics
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time by:
- Clicking your username in the top-right corner
- Selecting "Manage Subscription" from the dropdown
- You'll be redirected to the Stripe Customer Portal where you can update or cancel your subscription
Yes! Your trading data is secured with:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/SSL)
- Secure authentication and session management
- User-isolated data storage
- Regular security updates and monitoring
